Vendor Spotlight: My Beloved

This summer we had the pleasure of meeting the beautiful, Julia Ramires. Latina/Native, proud daughter of an immigrant, and here conquer the world! We were shocked to find out that a lot of her wooden repertoire is hand crafted by members of her family. Julia comes from a huge family! With herself being the 4th oldest of 12 siblings. This makes for the best support system and  man power when it comes to moving things around. She has an extensive inventory ranging from tables and seating, to furniture set ups, arches, and backyard games. Dive in to find out more on Julia and how she started My Beloved.

How long have you been in business?
My Beloved just turned 1 in August!

What services does My Beloved Vintage Rentals offer?
My Beloved is a rental company that focuses on vintage and specialty rentals.

What got you started in the industry?
I’ve always loved vintage shopping and in my family my sister and I were always the ones hosting events. Over 2017 & 2018 I was presented with the idea of starting this business and it’s like all the stars aligned with all of my interests in the center.

What do you and your team like to do on your spare time? Hobbies, interests?
My Beloved is completely made up of my family, and we love being together. We have tons of family time with 4 generations of family! I personally love visiting different coffee shops around town (with Villa Myriam & Cutbow being my favorites) and shopping all of the vintage stores in our city!

What is the most rewarding part of what you do?
Seeing how much people appreciate the things I love as well is so heart filling.

Can you recall a time when you had a chaotic event? If so, how did you get through it?
We had one event with more than two 20ft hauls (which was over 200 pieces of ours) and what I learned from that was to remain organized, calm, and to focus on one area at a time, and remind your team how grateful you are for them!

To what do you attribute your success?
My brother in law and sister have been my biggest physical helpers, without them I definitely wouldn’t have done half as well as I have. We have also met so many wonderful vendors who have been amazing cheerleaders and friends.

What sets you apart from others in your area of business?
We really try to cater to everyone and ensure that whatever your budget you are able to have things that express your style.

If someone were wanting to book you for their special day, how far in advance would they have to do it?
We generally book smaller weddings around 4-6 months in advance. If you are wanting a more elaborate wedding then 9 months – 1 years is recommended.

Are you flexible with traveling for a wedding?
      Absolutely!

What trends do you foresee this upcoming wedding season?
I think we will see a bigger push on sustainable weddings and more local emphasis, a see a lot more non-traditional floral arrangements.

What has been your most “out of the box” request?
No out of the box requests yet

Any tips or advice you would give to a bride and groom when in search of rentals and event design assisting?
Don’t give up on having your dream wedding if your budget isn’t huge, adding a few rentals that really push the look you want will go a long way in achieving your dream look!
